Collage Party*

I have always found collages fascinating.  The creative collage works by Paul Butler and John Stezaker are my recent favourites.

Butler at Jessica Bradley Art + Projects, Toronto 2011:

Stezaker at the ICA, London 2010:

I have enjoyed Stezaker's solo exhibition at London's Whitechapel Gallery in March.

*Collage Party is the name of a travelling experimental studio hosted by Butler.

  1. I always liked this collage kid by Italian (?) artist Marcello Maloberti.

Did you ever try your hand on collage?

  2. I've never heard of MM. I used to do collages when I had a lot of scraps while studying architecture.

  3. I always wonder why so many art in Canada is based on collectivity, like the drawing club Royal Art Lodge from Winnipeg, the art/music/performance of Hidden Cameras and The Collage Party...maybe something in the water there ;)

  4. And the list goes on. That makes me wonder too. Never thought about that.
