Hughes's contemporary watercolours

Simon Hughes is one of the very few contemporary artists around who use the medium of watercolour with non-traditional expressions.  From his current solo exhibition The Central Region at Arsenal Toronto's Division Gallery:

Hughes at Julie Saul Gallery, New York 2013:

  1. I love the fact that The Weakerthans used a Simon Hughes for the cover of Reunion. But then again not surprising seeing as they also used a Marcel Dzama on Reconstruction Site. Sometimes popular music has taste and smarts.

  2. Agreed. They don't have to be mutually exclusive.
