On Hadid and suprematism and constructivism

I came across recently this very inspiring video on Zaha Hadid's groundbreaking architecture, Kazimir Malevich's suprematism and El Lissitzky's constructivism:

Leuphana Zentralgebäude

A friend of mine, who used to study at Leuphana Universität of Lüneburg just outside Hamburg, suggested me to pay a visit to its campus when I travelled to Hamburg London last fall.  The main Zentralgebäude building, completed in 2017, was designed by Daniel Libeskind.  It is in the same style as Libeskind's 2007 addition to Toronto's Royal Ontario Museum (ROM).  I couldn't have waited to see it, and it surely didn't disappoint me.

Elbphilharmonie

When I visited Hamburg in 2014, Herzog & de Meuron's Elbphilharmonie was still under construction.  Last September marked my first visit to this magnificent concert hall since its completion in 2017.

Unité d'Habitation

Although I have visited Berlin many times over the years, this is only my first time visiting Le Corbusier's 1958 Unité d'Habitation during my stay in Berlin last fall.  It's a pity I didn't get a chance to see its interior though.

The Rhinoceros In The Room

Itamar Gov's installation The Rhinoceros In The Room, Oder: Ein Märchen Von Banalität Und  Bösem currently at the Kunstmuseum, Magdeburg:

Magdeburg, the capital of the German state Sachsen-Anhalt, is about two hours to the southwest of Berlin.  The Kunstmuseum is housed in the 11th-century Kloster Unser Lieben Frauen, the magnificent architecture of which provides a perfect backdrop for Gov's BIG installation.

Pfefferberg

The Pfefferberg is a former brewery site at the centre of Berlin which is now home to art studios, a museum and various other cultural organizations.
