Today Diggers, Tomorrow Dickens 2

Back in T.O. now.  Continuing from yesterday ...

The other part of Cyprien Gaillard's solo exhibition Today Diggers, Tomorrow Dickens consists collages of pictures from back issues of National Geographic magazine.  Fragments of history of recent decades are unfolded through folded pages.

Today Diggers, Tomorrow Dickens 1

Went to see several heavy-weight shows yesterday.  Will write about the rest later.  This one just opened two days ago ...

Using excavation machine parts and onyx rods, Cyprien Gaillard created beautiful sculptures that signify both ruination and fossilization at the same time.  Will the acts of destruction and preservation lead to progress or regress?
