The Last Poldaas Pictures

Jaan Poldaas (1948-2018, R.I.P.) is showing his final work for the first time at his solo exhibition Jaan Poldaas: 2018 The Last Pictures Show along side his 30th Anniversary: TTC Commission Proposal Studies currently at Birch Contemporary, Toronto:

I was excited to see Jaan Poldaas's new works from his solo exhibition 2016 just opened last week at Birch Contemporary, Toronto.  Note the presence of an anchoring black square on each of his paintings.

JP's EG

At his summer exhibition EG Series 1978/2011 at Toronto's Birch Libralato Gallery, Jaan Poldaas examined the social use of colours by drawing examples from the public sector.  His monochromatic panels were both representational and abstract at the same time.
