Art Spin @ Tower Automotive

I went to the 4th annual Art Spin exhibition yesterday at the abandoned early 20th century Tower Automotive building in Toronto's west end.  In addition to the art works on view, the architecture of the venue itself is also worth seeing.  Some of the participating artists:

Mansur: art as object/object as art

It must have been three years since I last saw Kal Mansur's works.  His sculptures are architecture-inspired, often flirting with light, even though just subtly sometimes.  I was excited to see Mansur's new works yesterday.  He has recently turned to decor/furniture design.  His latest Klash Inside series is an art/object hybridization, again enlivened by diffused light.

Mansur's imaginary architecture

Toronto artist Kal Mansur's imaginary architecture is a completely sealed space with no entrance/exit, or an uninhabited empty space with apparent enclosures and voids, or a sculptural skyscraper with no windows or openings.  They are not designed to be built but to be contemplated upon.
