Mystical geological de Haan
Representing Prairies and the North, Jason de Haan is the other finalist for the 2012 Sobey Art Award that I like. Described as mystical geology, de Haan's works are poetically captivating, often with arresting transcendence.

Walking And Chewing The Fat At The Same Time*
One of the finalists for the 2012 Sobey Art Award, Ontario's Derek Sullivan is currently showing his drawings and sculptures at MOCCA (Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art):
Often referencing the history of modernist design, Sullivan's works shown at Jessica Bradley Art + Projects earlier this year were full of interesting surprises:
* Walking And Chewing The Fat At The Same Time is the title of Sullivan's previous show at Jessica Bradley.
