Kirmes

I have been visiting Düsseldorf every summer since 2008.  Usually around the time I was there, they had the annual fun fair Kirmes am Rhein running for ten days on the west bank of the river.  I have never been a patron of the Kirmes but I decided to take some pictures of its temporary architecture before it was opened this past summer.  The place was supposed to be crowded when it would be opened the following day.  I found the eerily empty and quiet Kirmes more interesting.
