Pantayo

Introducing Pantayo - an exciting recent musical discovery of mine ...

They are an all-women Filipino-Canadian quintet from the multicultural city of Toronto.  Their very distinctive sound is a blend of traditional percussions from the southern Philippines and electronic
beeps.  I am happy that their self-titled debut album has just been shortlisted for Canada's very own Polaris Music Prize this year.  Well done, girls!  I'm so proud of our city.  Here are a couple of my favourite tracks from the album ...
