Since I have been very sick and been in bed since yesterday afternoon, I don't have anything new to post today.  I'll post something I saw a few days ago.  The primary reason for my visit to Essen was to see Jürgen Paas's recent works.  He also had another show in Düsseldorf but, unfortunately, it was closed just before I arrived at Düsseldorf.

Missing Colors

Jürgen Paas's latest exhibition is currently showing at Zürich's A|B|Contemporary.  Too bad I cannot be there.  I miss Paas's vibrant colours and geometry ...

Blue Moon

Looks like 2012 has been a busy year for Jürgen Paas so far. In addition to his current appearances at Art Cologne and Ladenburg's Galerie Linde Hollinger, which I have previously written about, his solo exhibition Blue Moon at Cor Galerie is concurrently running until May 5.

Wunderbar

My favourite artist Jürgen Paas' latest solo exhibition Wunderbar is opening at Düsseldorf's Galerie Bernd A Lausberg this Friday.  Since I won't be able to travel to Germany any time before summer, I can only get a sneak peak of his latest works here at Toronto's Lausberg Contemporary.  I hope his show will travel to Toronto some time soon in future.

I was treated with Jürgen Paas's earlier geometric works when I visited Toronto's Lausberg Contemporary today:

German abstraction in T.O.

Lausberg Contemporary is a Duesseldorf-based art gallery with international showrooms, one being here in Toronto.  It is one of my most visited galleries because of its frequent showing of contemporary German abstraction.  Jürgen Paas is probably my most favourite artist showing at Lausberg.  I have seen his works both in Duesseldorf and in Toronto.  I even got a chance to visit his studio in Essen last year.  I love the mathematical clarity and the industrial precision of his minimalist works.
