Come ye apart and rest a while

From the recent public art exhibition Land|Slide Possible Futures at Markham Museum, Blue Republic's installation Morning Daily in an old Baptist church has persuaded me to slow down and contemplate on this rainy Sunday afternoon.

Markham, immediately north of Toronto, is one of Canada's most culturally diverse and fastest growing cities.  The public art exhibition Land|Slide Possible Futures at Markham Museum, just closed this past weekend, was a reinterpretation of its historical buildings and artefacts.  Frank Havermans celebrated primal craftsmanship with four hoist pulleys, which were used to hold up a contemporary steel structure outside the historic Strickler Barn.
