I first saw Anthony McCall's works at London's Serpentine Gallery in 2007. Fascinated by his cones of light with geometric cross sections, I instantly became his follower. Even though I have seen most of his works before, I was ecstatic to attend his latest show Five Minutes Of Pure Sculpture at Hamburger Bahnhof today. McCall's light installations exist at the borders of cinematic projection, sculpture and drawing. It is the ephemeral yet seemingly tangible quality of these "light sculptures" that makes the show so magical.
