Chromascopic

Another exciting show I went to see during my current trip to London was Chromascopic at APT Gallery, a group exhibition curated by Laurence Noga and Ben Gooding.  The focus of the show is to "examine, explore and celebrate the non-figurative flourishing of British colourists in the twenty-first century".  Clearly, the curators did an excellent job.

Drawing Biennial MMXVII

I went to see Drawing Biennial at Drawing Room when I was in London two weeks ago.  I was a bit hesitant at first to share these pictures since all the drawings they were showing were placed inside plastic wraps, and the reflections on the plastic surfaces might have obscured the drawings in many cases.  But then I found that the reflections actually made the images more interesting.  So here they are ...

To Go Too Far

Just arrived at Berlin.  Got free wifi here at last!  Haven't visited any places yet.  So I'm going to write about a show I saw in Düsseldorf earlier.

While most galleries in Düsseldorf are closed for the summer already, I'm thankful that Petra Rinck Galerie still remains open.  Their current exhibition To Go Too Far includes my very favourite Lothar Götz:

Project 07

My whirlwind visit to London ended on a high note yesterday.  It was a day highlighted by the art of my very favourite Lothar Götz in four different locations.  Götz's Project 07 at the Contemporary Art Society, consisting of more than 20 drawings, is the main focus.  The other three installations are the Soho Room commissioned work at House of St. Barnabas and, as part of Festival Of Love at the Southbank Centre, Happy Together at the Clore Ballroom of the Royal Festival Hall and I Have A Dream at the Queen Elizabeth Hall foyer.  Here's Götz at the Contemporary Art Society:

Abstract Drawing

Curated by Richard Deacon, the exhibition Abstract Drawing at Drawing Room is probably not in the radar of most visiting London.  It was high on my must-see list when I visited London last month since abstract drawing is a big part of what I do.
