Pierce's tapestries of paint

With paint as a sculptural material, Sasha Pierce's meticulously produced works are as delicate as real tapestries.

Gili explosion

Jaime Gili's paintings were said to appear as if someone had thrown a bomb at a work by fellow Venezuelan, master of op artCarlos Cruz-Diez.  Whether there's an explosion or not, Gili's dynamic triangulation is causing a commotion, in a good way.

Schur grids

Richard Schur's grid paintings are almost like architectural drawings - crisp and precise.

Meier Barcelona

I visited one of my favourite buildings by Richard Meier in Barcelona the first time in 2003.  Meier's buildings always look good in axonometric drawings.

Meier Atlanta

When I went to Atlanta for a conference in 2007, I took the chance to visit one of the signature buildings by my favourite architect Richard Meier.  His drawings are at least as impressive as the actual building ...

Inverse Reverse Perverse

Cerith Wyn Evans' minimalist installation Inverse Reverse Perverse is a large concave mirror that reflects, inverts and distorts the viewer. The ever-changing nature of the reflections suggests the passage of time and the transience of identity.

Frei's Transmitters @ Schmela Haus

The Schmela Haus, inaugurated in late 2009, is a new project space in Düsseldorf for experimental works.

Luca Frei's Transmitters, an installation in wood, mirrors, glass and Triton Trumpet seashells, was shown at Schmela Haus in 2011.  The mirrors were strategically placed to create an illusion of space.

Wilson's random structures

At his KWT Contemporary show Yes Yes Try Less, Jay Wilson's "highly structured and developmentally random" constructions are equally impressive either in sterling silver or in ordinary toothpicks.
