Berlin's Capitain Petzel is currently hosting John Stezaker's solo exhibition Crossing Over. In addition to his recent collage works, he also has three new films on view. I first saw Stezaker's film debut this March at London's The Approach. It was a mesmerizing bombardment of images in short loops (of typically less than 20 seconds) flashing at a speed of 24 stills per second. At the Capitain Petzel show I saw yesterday, his film Cathedral was my number one choice - I'm shamelessly biased toward architectural themes. Here are some "stills" from the film:
