Chipperfield's Neues 1: surfaces

I visited Neues Museum when I was in Berlin this past summer.  While every visitor was scrutinizing all the ancient Egyptian and prehistoric artifacts on display, I only had eyes for David Chipperfield's 2009 revived interiors.

Architecture of new Berlin

Can't believe it's already the end of my twelve days in Berlin.  Since all art galleries are closed on Mondays, it's another architecture day for me.  I'll post pictures of some of the contemporary architecture I've seen during my stay in this vibrant city.

Meinhard von Gerkan's 2006 Berlin Hauptbahnhof:

Helmut Jahn's 2000 Sony Center:

Frank Gehry's 2000 DZ Bank:

Norman Foster's 1999 Reichstag glass dome:

I.M. Pei's 2003 Deutsches Historisches Museum:

David Chipperfield's 2007 Am Kupfergraben 10:

Michael Wilford's 2000 British Embassy:

Sauerbruch Hutton's 1999 GSW Hauptverwaltung:

I'm limiting myself to posting only one picture from each site.  I'll post more pictures in my future posts.
